Angel Clinicians at Sweeth: where dental expertise meets innovation
"Real innovation starts at the chair — but the dentist isn't sitting in the front row."
On May 28, 2026, it was no ordinary afternoon for Belgium's dental community. Sweeth — a Belgian company that helps dental professionals integrate 3D printing into their daily practice— hosted a lecture by Isabelle Savoye on Digital Orthodontics: From Planning to 3D Printing. The room was filled with clinicians eager to keep pace with the digital evolution reshaping their field.
Angel Clinicians was present as a partner — and took the floor.
A gap that exists — and needs to be bridged
Guy De Vreese and Kristof Serlet, co-founders of Angel Clinicians, delivered a short but pointed presentation. Starting from the question every innovative dentist has asked at some point — "This could be better. Why doesn't it exist yet?" — they identified three structural problems that are holding dental innovation back.
- Clinicians can not valorize their expertise beyond the treatment chair. Years of hands-on knowledge stay locked within four walls.
- Startups lack clinical credibility and real-world validation. They build products without the voice of the people who would use them every day.
- Investors lack clinical insight when evaluating dental tech. They invest in technology they cannot properly assess.
The conversations with professionals in the room that day confirmed what the founders already knew: the need is real — and so is the appetite to address it.
Angel Clinicians was founded as a direct response to those three gaps. It is a community that brings dental professionals together with innovators and investors active in HealthTech, MedTech and BioTech — with a focus on digital dentistry, CAD/CAM and biomaterials.
As a member of AngelClinicians, you take on one or more of three roles: advisor (test innovations against your clinical experience), investor (invest in dental tech you genuinely understand), or critical voice (shape the direction of the next generation of tools). No blind bets. No ivory towers. Just expertise that works.
The Sweeth event was one of the first moments Angel Clinicians brought this message into practice — and the response spoke for itself. Clinicians who had felt that frustration for years recognized it immediately.
